Wild harvested seaweed from Lofoten

February 25, 2018

We are delighted to be partnering up with The Lofoten Seaweed Company as a supplier of wild-harvested, arctic seaweed for our products.

Based in Napp in the Lofoten archipelago, they are surrounded by raw nature, exposed to the elements all year round.

Angelita and Tamara primarily harvest seaweed for food consumption but when we approached them asking if they could harvest Norwegian Sea Kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum) for us in addition, they happily obliged.

The seaweed up here in the arctic get's it's nourishment not only from the sea, but also from the midnight sun which shines 24 hours a day during the summer months.  In the winter months the northern lights dance overhead whilst the seaweed gently sways in the crisp, clean waters around Lofoten.

It's this variable environment that provides a seaweed of the highest quality, perfectly suitable for use in our cosmetic products. Our body soap has already proved to be popular and will be available again when we soon recieve our fiirst delivery. We're also busy developing other products with Lofoten Seaweed as the main ingredient. We promise they'll be worth waiting for.......
